Kristin S. Cauley, BSN, MSN-FNP
Kristin Cauley is board certified as a family nurse practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Kristin worked for 5 years in the specialty of endoscopy, where she was able to obtain gastroenterology specific patient care experience and further develop her interest in gastroenterology. In addition, she is certified as a gastroenterology nurse by the Society of Gastrointestinal Nurses and Associates.
Originally from Boston, MA, Kristin Cauley graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northeastern University, and after completing school was able to gain experience working at teaching hospitals such as Massachusetts General Hospital and Tufts Medical Center. Her experience also extends to the academic side of nursing as she has been a clinical instructor for nursing students.
Michelle Morgan, NP
Michelle Morgan is a board-certified adult nurse practitioner with over 20 years of clinical experience in nursing. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Southern Maine in Portland, Maine, and her Master of Science in Nursing from Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts.
Before joining Scottsdale Healthcare Digestive Services in 2010, Michelle gained five years of patient care experience as a nurse practitioner, three of which she worked in digestive health roles. She also worked as a clinical nurse specialist for three years, in which she gained teaching experience through teaching nursing students. In 2007, Michelle held a position of clinical nurse specialist at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan, where she was awarded the Nurse of the Year Award for Advanced Practice and Education.
Julie Taylor-Zafuto, MSN, APRN, NP-C, RNFA, CEN
Julie Taylor-Zafuto is a nurse practitioner with more than 20 years of healthcare experience. She has worked in numerous healthcare settings, including a post anesthesia care unit, emergency department, catheterization lab and others.
An avid believer in constantly seeking knowledge and best practices, she earned a bachelor’s in nursing, followed by a master’s in nursing with a family nurse practitioner focus and a master’s in nursing in a women’s healthcare nurse practitioner program.
Julie has received several honors, including a nursing excellence award in the area of management and a nursing excellence award in the area of emergency medicine and perioperative care. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the Society of Aesthetic Nurses, Emergency Nurses Association and American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Carl Thompson, PA
Carl Thompson, PA, has worked as a Physician Assistant in gastroenterology and hepatology for the last six years. Thompson started his PA career in 2005 with Scottsdale Healthcare Gastroenterology and Endoscopy. He obtained his Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Midwestern University in 2005. Prior to working as a PA, Thompson had a career in the Telecom industry serving in various managerial and executive positions for firms including AT&T, Lucent Technologies and North American Wireless. He earned his BA in Philosophy at the University of Notre Dame and his MBA in Marketing at the University of Chicago.
